Position Title: Energy Efficiency Trade Ally Coordinator
Employment Status: Full Time
Location: Oregon (The position is remote but the individual must be permanently located in the Portland Metro Region)
About Waypoint: Waypoint is a commercial energy efficiency company that delivers utility and public services for the commercial real estate sector. Waypoint’s core mission is to significantly decrease energy usage within the commercial building sector through advanced energy analytics and innovative market deployment programs. Our multidisciplinary team of technical experts and commercial real estate professionals develops and implements innovative market engagement strategies with demonstrated cost savings. In a short time, Waypoint has established itself as a trusted advisor to national commercial real estate companies, utilities, and select federal, state, and local government agencies.
Position Summary: As a Trade Ally Coordinator, you will lead outreach and engagement to recruit and support contractors and their customers in pursuing energy efficiency projects for commercial facilities, for a program that is located throughout the state of Oregon. You will need to be able to travel within your assigned territory and throughout your assigned region to engage with contractors, lead trainings, and perform in person site visits. The role is hybrid in that you will work from home when not doing site visits or contractor in person engagements. Trade Ally Coordinators in this role will serve as a single point of contact for contractors wishing to participate in the program and receive help or support to increase awareness of the program to their customer base. Trade Ally Coordinators have a goal to successfully enroll contractors into the energy efficiency program offerings and ensure their continued success. Meetings with contractors may take place via phone, email, and in-person events. Throughout the course of the day-to-day role, a Trade Ally Coordinator may need to communicate the benefits in terms that resonate with that contractor or their customer base (financial metrics vs. energy metrics) and provide contractors with the tools and training necessary to encourage stakeholders to move forward. Alongside your outreach and contractor support role, you will be responsible for working with the client, building lasting relationships, and working as a team to achieve overall goals year over year. You will provide the team with market intelligence received from your contractor relationships, including information on updated technologies and trends, all the while cultivating and maintaining relationships with key role players within the market. Every day you will be working towards helping society better utilize its energy resources.
A background in trades, construction management, energy management, account management, or an equivalent field is required. Direct experience working with utilities is preferred but not required.
