Position Title: Energy Efficiency Outreach Analyst

Position Summary: As a Waypoint Outreach Analyst, you will ensure successful delivery of our professional services in the commercial real estate industry to drive value for our utility, government, and real-estate clients in a customer-facing role. Primary responsibilities include leading and executing innovative market outreach and engagement strategies with commercial building owners and managers. This position will be mostly remote and will involve phone calls (some cold calling), email and in-person events and client meetings (pending Covid-19).  You will develop and manage stakeholder relationships within a regional portfolio of commercial buildings, collaborating with energy engineers to develop customized business cases for building retrofits, conducting strategic data analysis with actionable results, and coordinating with utility account executives to increase adoption and implementation of energy efficient upgrades. Other responsibilities will include developing proposal responses for new business, market research, crafting project deliverables such as research reports and presentations, and creating tools and resources for internal company use.

 

This is an ideal job for someone with a background in outreach, consulting, energy efficiency or other customer-facing project management roles with a long-term interest in understanding the business operations of the commercial real estate and utility energy efficiency markets within the built commercial environment. The ideal candidate will also have a passion and capacity for working in an evolving, data-driven, fast-paced, growth environment and knowledge of or ability to learn building energy auditing.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute outreach and engagement strategies within the commercial real estate industry for multiple contracts in multiple regions

  • Develop and manage stakeholder relationships within a regional portfolio of commercial buildings and utility program management

  • Develop and model financial business cases for building retrofits in collaboration with energy engineers

  • Coordinate with utility account executives to increase adoption and implementation of energy efficient upgrades and other demand side management opportunities at scale

  • Conduct strategic research and data analysis on energy efficiency markets, building portfolios and utility customers with actionable results

  • Draft client-facing deliverables in a range of formats, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Draft briefings and professional correspondence for review/circulation by management

  • Assist management in attaining business development targets

  • Periodically assist with research and development of materials for marketing, events, and partnerships with industry organizations

  • Travel up to 5% for conferences and client meetings (pending COVID-19 safety)

 

 

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA; Graduate degree optional

  • 1-3 years of professional experience required in energy, environmental, commercial real estate, or green building fields; experience in customer-facing, project management roles preferred

  • Possess fundamental understanding of energy efficiency market needs, utility markets, and/or building components and energy efficiency measures

  • Quantitative capabilities working with energy and financial data and manipulating the data with Excel

  • Strong communications skills in person, on the phone and over email

  • Possess strong writing, analytical and presentation skills

  • Ability to self-motivate and work successfully in a remote environment

  • Experience working with Salesforce preferred but not required
