Waypoint Energy is pleased to be presenting at the upcoming AESP’s Online Conference on Customer Engagement, hosted online on July 19th, 2016. This half-day conference is an in-depth discussion on customer engagement and what it means to energy efficiency. The Associated of Energy Service Professionals (AESP), is a leading member-based association dedicated to improving the delivery and implementation of energy efficiency, energy management and distributed renewable resources. AESP provides professional development programs, a network of energy practitioners, and promotes the transfer of knowledge and experience. This online conference, informally titled “Energy Weds Efficiency… After Customer Engagement,” will examine five case studies of programs that exemplify this concept, and the framework to plan and design a successful program at conference attendees’ own utilities.
Emily Pearce, a Director at Waypoint Energy, will be giving a presentation titled “Utilities Engaging the CRE Multi-Tenant Market.” She will discuss Waypoint Energy’s portfolio approach with utility and commercial real estate (CRE) partners in its Utility Connect Program:
The CRE industry is a highly complex environment marked by multiple stakeholders with conflicting incentives, complex investment cycles and priorities, and multiple decision makers. These are market barriers to energy efficiency programs and have historically led to low penetration in utility programs. Enter the Connect Program, which leverages existing market infrastructure and data to successfully deploy existing utility energy efficiency programs to portfolios of properties at scale. Connect leverages the data and access provided by key property management partners, which results in lower-cost outreach, while improving the conversion rate of individual building engagements. Connect’s portfolio approach allows for development of strong relationships and communication channels with property managers, owners, and tenants. Connect also helps project energy efficiency recommendations get incorporated into annual capital budgeting cycles. To date, the program at Pacific Gas & Electric has enrolled 202 buildings totaling ~29.7 million square feet; for an estimated 4.9m annual kWh savings and $171,600 annual energy cost savings.
Waypoint is excited to join you and policymakers, energy efficiency program implementers, government personnel, utility staff, NGOs and energy efficiency professionals in sharing the common interest in energy efficiency and commercial building market transformation, and to collaborate with industry leaders to help drive growth in the future. Make sure to register for the conference to listen to and learn from Emily’s full presentation with more detail on the Connect Program.
