Last week, three members from Waypoint Energy attended the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP) 2018 National Conference and Expo in New Orleans. AESP is a member-based association dedicated to improving the delivery and implementation of energy efficiency, demand-side management and demand response programs. AESP provides professional development programs, access to a network of energy practitioners, and promotes the transfer of knowledge and experience. Given AESP’s mission, they were excited to attend creative and informational sessions, tours and even conference-sponsored cupcake walks…but the icing on the (cup)cake came to Waypoint Energy Manager, Marta Schantz when she won the AESP “One to Watch” Young Professional Award.
Marta Schantz has more than 7 years of experience in project management and market analysis, all of which are concentrated in both qualitative and quantitative energy and policy analysis. She manages large utility energy efficiency market transformation programs for the commercial real estate industry and supports the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Better Buildings Alliance Plug and Process Load (PPL) Technical Team and Advanced Rooftop Unit Campaign. She not only embraces energy efficiency as a whole-hearted passion, but maintains deep relationships with utility, government and commercial real estate industry members. Just this past November, she won the AESP Energy Efficiency Day Tweet Contest, expressing her passion for energy efficiency.
In addition to being an amazing energy efficiency professional, Marta is a beloved team member at Waypoint Energy and is a vibrant contributor the company’s spirit and evolution. Her dedication to her team, company and the energy efficiency industry are hard to beat. Waypoint Energy’s Vice President, Emily Pearce, had this to say about Marta’s award:
“We are so excited, but not surprised, that Marta was the recipient of AESP's "One to Watch" award at the national conference this year. Marta's experience, dedication and hard work within the energy efficiency field make her truly a leader in our field now and for many years to come.”
Here at Waypoint Energy, we’re thankful and inspired to have Marta as a valuable member of the team. Many congrats to Marta!
