Okay - saying we’re eager for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Better Buildings Summit is an understatement. Since the Better Buildings Initiative’s inception, Waypoint has supported those Department of Energy (DOE) efforts in one way shape or form: through the market solutions team supporting Re-Tuning Training and Appraisals/Valuation, or as technical experts for the Advanced Rooftop Unit (RTU) Campaign and Plug and Process Load (PPL) Technical Team. Through the years, we have worked with hundreds of organizations and have supported them as they advance their energy efficiency efforts to incredible heights. So really, we are ecstatic to attend the Summit in Washington DC in less than a couple weeks to not only reconnect with these organizations, but to also inspire and engage with others looking to expand their energy efficiency efforts.

This year, three of us from Waypoint will be attending the Summit: Emily Pearce, Marta Schantz, and Sormeh Konjkav. Waypoint Manager, Marta Schantz and Senior Analyst, Sormeh Konjkav will be at the PPL Ask-an Expert Table for attendees to ask us about building systems. We also encourage you to sit in on insightful sessions on behalf of the PPL Tech Team and Advanced RTU Campaign. Here’s a schedule of the sessions we’re not going to miss:

  • Retail Food Service & Grocery (RFSG) Meet-Up: Waypoint, DOE, Starbucks, Wendy’s, REI, Monday May 15th 3:30-5:00pm

  • Plug Into Savings: The Best Meter Control Strategies for Office Plug Loads: NREL, Seventhwave, University of Washington, Tuesday May 16, 11:15am-12:30pm
